Import and Customs

Who is responsible for duties and taxes, what documentation is prepared, and how final amounts are decided.

Awaiting qualified legal review

This legal document is stored as an editable draft and has not been signed off by qualified legal counsel. It must be reviewed for your contracting entities and customer jurisdictions before you rely on it in production.

Contracting entity: the seller named on your invoice. Where an order is placed with a different MOTORS EU entity, that entity is named on the invoice and in the order confirmation.

Responsibility

Unless a delivered arrangement is agreed in writing, the importer of record is responsible for customs duty, import tax, and any port or clearance charges.

Documentation

We prepare the commercial invoice, export declaration, bill of lading or air waybill, specification sheet and delivery note for the shipment, and hand them to the party you appoint.

Estimates

Our estimator shows indicative duty and tax percentages with their source and date. These are planning figures: the importing authority determines the final assessment based on the declared value and its own rules.

Regulations

Import rules vary by country and change. We confirm the requirements for your specific route in the shipping quotation rather than publishing blanket promises.
